These buildings are on the list to be demolished. They have to make room so the city of Maastricht can start to build a tunnel for the freeway A2. It now runs through the city and has several stoplights. When the tunnel is done the two halves of the city can be reached undisterbed and the air should be cleaner as well. Less noise etc. But by that time I won't be living there I presume.
